What the problem is....

I think I've found the problem with SG. It's simple... We refuse to learn to be a true music genre business. Until we do...we'll be stuck where we are wondering why we can only get "love offering" dates! SAD!!

I find it quite humorous that people REFUSE, literally refuse, to check out the facts when presented to them. For instance, do a search on "press releases" and how to write a basic press release. You'll find a few guidelines such as these:

http://www.webwire.com/FormatGuidelines.asp
http://www.press-release-writing.com/press-release-template.htm
http://www.coachbiz.org/how-do-i-format-and-send-a-press-release.html

Now where SSE seems to get the slack is the last paragraph of our press releases describing a little about our company. Now...for media, this is optional, meaning media chooses whether or not they want to print it, some do some don't.

Each of these guidlines state that you should include a paragraph regarding your business:

http://www.webwire.com/FormatGuidelines.asp
Background information about the company featured in the release, if appropriate, as well as any applicable safe harbor statement.

http://www.press-release-writing.com/press-release-template.htm
Company History (try to do this in one short paragraph)

The last paragraph of your press release should be a description of your business. Include a synopsis of what you do, where you are located, how large you are, and how long you have been in business.

I choose not to defend my company, only to educate those that are too lazy to educate themselves.

There are so many areas I could go into...we all could use so much more education when it comes to running our genre like a business. Of course, I'll have those comments about how this music is a ministry and not a business. It's about winning souls, not selling CD's.

The summit Chris and I just returned from talked about this. They were firm believers that FAITH and MARKETING are compatible. I happen to agree. Marketing is simply communication. It's finding a people with a need in which you can satisfy. Doesn't that describe the whole "go ye into all the world" concept? We are looking for a people with a need (salvation, healing, love, etc) in which we can satisfy (bringing them to Christ).

Within the next few weeks (hopefully if my schedule works out right), Chris and I will be focusing on our Southern Spin Artist Direction...working on our forums to get them really up and running. I'd love to start an educational process and make it WORK!!

I'm too tired to continue my rant...but rest assured it will continue! haha

AM OUT!!

I feel ya girl, my business is the same way. All I do is try to educate but people think you are force feeding and twisting arms. Just keep on keeping on....
